A long-time resident of Qualicum Beach and Parksville BC, Rosie passed away peacefully in her sleep after a short illness.
Rosie was born to Jacob and Rosina (Lohner) Klemens in Jarek Yugoslavia. The family was forced to flee their homeland during WWII and eventually settled in post-war Germany. There, she was re-united with other former “Jarekers”, including her future husband. After getting married in 1956, the couple immigrated to Canada in 1957 and they lived in a variety of places in Ontario, Manitoba and BC. Rosie has resided in the Parksville-Qualicum area for 51 years. She loved collecting recipes, gardening, crocheting, and quilting.
Rosie is pre-deceased by her parents, her son Rick (2017) and her son-in-law Bill (2016). She is sadly missed by her children Mike (Ted), Dorothy, and Alan, and her grandchildren Beth, Krystle (Andres), Melissa (David), Kevin (Karie), Jeff (Jeannine), and Matt as well as 7 great-grandchildren.
No service by request. Arrangements entrusted to Qualicum Beach Memorial Services.
