Marilyn Erickson Obituary

MARILYN EDINA ERICKSON (Blake)

Nov. 1, 1938 - Sept. 17,2023

We are saddened to announce that Marilyn Edina Erickson passed away peacefully

at Trillium Lodge, Parksville.

Marilyn is survived by Ed, her beloved husband of 66 years, many relatives and close friends.

Predeceased by her two daughters, Deborah Albaya (John) and Joanne Erickson (Peter). Also her brother Gordon Blake (Angie).

Marilyn was born in Vancouver and moved to Port Alberni with her parents Madge and Bryce Blake at a young age. She completed her schooling graduating from ADHS in 1956. Marilyn and Ed owned and operated Valley Outboards in Port Alberni for 26 years.

In early years she curled at the Port Alberni Curling Club and enjoyed many bonspiels. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.

After moving to Qualicum Beach to retire, Marilyn joined the Qualicum Beach Golf Club. Her "Friday Frolickers” golfing ladies were always special to her.

During this time she found time to volunteer at the Cancer Society Office administering the receipts for all donations.

We will all miss Marilyn for her exceptional memory. We all relied on her for the important dates and names.

Ed and Marilyn spent many winters in Maui and Palm Desert in their RV with their winter friends.

Thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Trillium Lodge for their care and kindness.
Marilyn requested that there be no service held and cremation has taken place.

Donations may be made to Ty Watson House in Port Alberni at www.albernihospice.ca/ty-watson-house , the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C.
