Alexander McCaul Obituary

In loving memory ~
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alex McCaul. Born in Glasgow Scotland in 1942 and then immigrating to Canada, Hamilton Ontario in 1952. He, as most Scots, worked in the Steel Industry with Stelco as a Crane Operator. In 1969, Alex and family moved to Parksville and worked in the transportation industry.
Alex had a passion for the outdoors where fly fishing and off grid camping was his pleasure. His standard was to “leave it as you found it”. His favourite home was a cabin in the woods. He enjoyed a quiet and simple life where he only owned things that he truly used; he lived a minimalist lifestyle. Whether he owned the property or rented, he always had pride of ownership. Alex was always working on an older car or truck that he just purchased at a great price.
A fiery Scotsman, not short on opinion and one of the bravest men we knew. Alex will be forever loved and missed.
Alex leaves behind his children, Angela Hansen, Lisa Versteeg (Allan), Laura Baker (Al), and Sean McCaul (Lana-Rae); grandchildren Amy Smith (Cayce), Matt Baker, Nick McCaul, Adam Hansen (Kayla), Jessica Cornell, Elle Hansen (Colin), Sam Cornell, Evan McCaul, Bailey McCaul; Great grandchildren Wyatt, Rowan, Mason, Cooper, Lou, Kenna and Bowen.
