Alberto was born in Argentina. Studied at New York University for his doctoral degree. He was one time a Professor and Canadian Government employee.
He was an author of 2 publications. He played the guitar, enjoyed fencing, martial art, and other sports; also he painted well.
As his colleagues commented: "Alberto is a remarkable individual, a worldly-wise man, with passion, intensity, and commitment, and always willing to help others."
His favourite quotation was Bertrand Russell's What I Have Lived For:
"Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind."
