Linda Lorraine Tenney passed away peacefully at her home in Qualicum Bay on October 15, 2019, surrounded by family. Her long battle with cancer is now over.
Linda was born in Toronto, Ontario to Allen and Lorraine Durnan. She was pre-deceased by husbands Colin Haines and Bob Tenney, father Allen Durnan and step-father Warren Eastman.
Linda leaves behind her loving mother Laurie (Lorraine) Eastman, brother David Durnan (Susan), brother Wayne Durnan (Suzanne), sister Charmaine St. Croix, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, along with her cuddly fur-baby Chloe the cat.
Linda published Eyes on BC for many years and was well-known with many friends in the Lighthouse Community. We wish to express our heartfelt thank you to the community fundraising groups and her Facebook friends. She appreciated their support deeply. In particular, Marcella Andrews and Kerry Mason were instrumental in helping Linda with her final journey. She will be missed by many.
We would also like to thank Dr. Sue Hunter, the Oceanside Hospice Society, the nurses of the Island Health Palliative Care team and the wonderful people with the Oceanside Health Centre Home Support Program. Together, they made her final days as comfortable for her as possible.
We hope that you will join with us to share stories and experiences that you had with Linda at a Celebration of Life to be held at the Lighthouse Community Centre, 240 Lions Way on November 2nd from 1-4 pm.
