We are devastated to announce the passing of Borden Graham on March 11, 2024, at a
very young 71 years. Although Borden had only lived on Vancouver Island for 6 short
years, he loved everything about living here. Borden loved his walks along the ocean
with his furbaby Maggie and their trips to the Qualicum dog park, often followed by a
stop at Dairy Queen for a Maggie cone.
He made many friends during his curling adventures at both Parksville and Qualicum
Curling Clubs, and despite his lengthy battle with cancer, had recently taken up
pickleball with his amazing friends and supporters at the Craig Bay Pickleball Club. He
was especially excited to watch Maggie work as the ball girl for the pickleballs,
especially when she didn’t want to give the balls back at game time.
Borden fought hard for over two years against a horrible disease that tried to steal his
life seemingly at every turn. Ultimately, he triumphed over cancer, but a sudden third
bout of pneumonia stole him from us much too soon. Borden is survived and forever
loved by his wife Michelle, daughter Kim (Carl) and “son” Tom (Sarah).
To celebrate him, Borden would love for you to hug your loved ones, with two paws or
four, and indulge in your favourite food and drink in ways that he missed incredibly over
the last two years.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to North Island Wildlife Recovery in Errington or Team Dog Rescue in Ontario.
